Weekly Roundup #7
Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.
Another week, another roundup. Dive into a gorgeous selection of indie tunes.
Basement - Hana Lili
You may have already heard of Hana. She supported Coldplay, which is kinda a big deal. Like, massive. If you aren’t aware of her, she’s a female singer/songwriter, channeling a similar aesthetic to the likes of Holly Humberstone. On face value, it sounds pretty familiar, but dig deeper into the lyrics and you’ll find a young emerging artist.
Collide - Kid Brunswick
Debuting Collide back in May 2023, Kid Brunswick is gearing up for one of the biggest years of his life. This tune sets into motion everything to follow, and if you caught his pop-up show earlier in February, you’ll know some of those things. Collide is massive, taking everything you love about the rising alt-rock star and amplifying it to something even bigger.
Blood Moon - Wine Mom
Hailing from Dublin, Wine Mom is a fresh indie band taking old school rock n’roll, pop and soul, and turning it into something fitting for the modern world. For fans of Black Honey, Wolf Alice, The Lemon Twigs and The Last Dinner Party, you’ll love this. Their debut single Blood Moon is timeless and refreshing.
Just Sad - Frey
There’ll never be a shortage of bedroom indie-pop, since Billie Eilish revitalised the genre with FINNEAS. Just Sad comes from FREY, an 18-year-old singer/songwriter.
Taking inspiration from pop, techno, and dance, it’s a combination of The 1975, Billie Eilish, and Lana. Sad and full of lo-fi, the tune provides a gorgeous back-drop to the days when maybe you aren’t feeling it.
