Weekly Roundup #24
Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.
Another week, another roundup. Who are you spinning?
Stone Cold Summer - South Arcade
Experiecing social media stardom recently, South Arcade are on a mission to keep your attention. Dropping a spontaneous single, Stone Cold Summer, is their attempt at hijacking your sunny playlists as the weather softens up. Stacking up nicely next to Riptide and Nepo Baby, this tune is sure to keep their successes coming.
Baby Steps - Sterling Press
Energetic in the studio, and even more so on stage, Sterling Press are rising indie stars. Described as ‘very Blur’ from BBC 6 Music, this band has their eyes on the prize. Baby Steps, which released earlier this year, is fantastic. Lyrically, it’s just as good, detailing their thoughts on fame, and the neverending grind. Don’t sleep, you may find the next big thing here.
Burn The Heretic - In Crooked Wonderment
Burn The Heretic is ‘the first arc in the new chapter of the overall storyline that spans our discography. It tells the story of an unnamed protagonist who joins a cult and is eventually feared by the others in the collective resulting in his promotion to leader.’ explains Conor.
The first of two singles, before a new EP, this tune revels in medieval styles, creating atmospheric gothic rock. Quite possibly, their best yet.
