Weekly Roundup #36
Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.
Another week, another roundup.
Ganni Top (She Gets What She Needs) - Nieve Ella
Hot, sexy and confident. That’s how Nieve Ella’s long-awaited new track makes you feel. If you haven’t heard the popular loop of this tune circulating social media over the Summer, where have you been? Ganni Top has been stuck in our heads since festival season and we are incredibly hyped for Ella’s upcoming EP.
My Fun - Suki Waterhouse
Suki Waterhouse recently dropped a new album, full of sparkling pop euphoria. One of our favourites is My Fun, which shares noticeable similarities with Oasis’ Shakermaker during the chorus. This isn’t surprising, after expressing her love of the Brit-Pop giants during an iconic All Points East set. There’s an optimism in this track, and is a departure from her dreamy sound.
Second Hand High - Nights Like These
After covering their debut EP Neverland, we’ve kept a close eye on this Lincoln-based rock outfit. Latest single Second Hand High takes the best parts of their introduction to the indie world, and follows the formula to make a dent in the landscape. As a band, they seem pretty self-assured, but also tuned into the scene. The riff in particular is a glowing example of what makes a solid ‘indie rock banger’. Keep your eyes on these!
I.H.H.G - Rae Charlea
Written about an indie musician calling herself ‘DIY’, while seemingly living a luxurious lifestyle, Rae Charlea dives into the contentious side of music. Something we adore about this rising star is a unique ability to write candidly about the world, through her lens, turning those thoughts into something spectacular. While it may be her ‘brattiest’ track yet, it’s fantastic.
