Indie-favourites DOVES have returned with their first new music in over four years, alongside the announcement of a new album for release in early 2025.

The announcement comes after teasing new music with cryptic posters around their native hometown of Manchester over the last week.

Lead single Renegade is their most expansive single to date, and sets the scene for the impending dystopian drama on Constellations For The Lonely. It’s a cinematic new sound while retaining the identity that many have come to associate with nostalgia.

Renegade, and the new record, has been described as ‘dark’. Re-iterating the aforementioned new direction and accompanying music video, that vision comes across very poignantly.

When talking to the press, the band’s drummer, vocalist and co-songwriter, Andy Williams says: “Looking at everyone’s lives over recent years, and considering the news at the moment, ‘Renegade’ feels a lot more loaded in retrospect. We wanted to go for a dystopian feel, thinking about Manchester itself over the next century or so. A totally imaginary thing… ‘Blade Runner’ set in our home city.”

DOVES is an English indie rock band from Manchester that has released five studio albums, three of which have reached #1 on the UK Album Charts. The band wrote, recorded, and produced their new effort between Greater Manchester, North Wales, and Cheshire, with additional production from long-term collaborator Dan Austin.

The confirmed tracklist is as follows:

  1. Renegade

  2. Cold Dreaming

  3. In The Butterfly House

  4. Strange Weather

  5. A Drop In The Ocean

  6. Last Year’s Man

  7. Stupid Schemes

  8. Saint Teresa

  9. Orlando

  10. Southern Bell

Presave the new album, out February 14th 2025.
