Weekly Roundup #13
Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.
Another week, another roundup. Wunderhorse prepares for album number two, and STONE lays the groundwork for their big debut.
Midas - Wunderhorse
A triumphant and fiery return from Wunderhorse with the lead single from album no.2, ‘Midas’. If you’ve seen them live supporting Declan Mckenna, or even last year, you may (like us) have been patiently waiting for this track to drop.
Wunderhorse have been sitting on a huge collection of new music for a while, and things are about to get wild.
Cartwheels - Soft Launch
Soft Launch is an indie-pop band which have been around for quite some time, and have found a following in some of the biggest artists on the scene. Now joining indie-superstar Declan Mckenna on the road, they released their hotly anticipated debut single, ‘Cartwheels’. The track aptly carries the vibe you’d find from Declan’s catalogue, with an optimistic umph.
Paper Crown - The Black Keys
Collaborating with Beck and Juicy J, The Black Keys dropped ‘Paper Crown’ last week. It’s a deep cut from their 13th studio album, and perhaps shows the band at their very best. With a groovy beat carying the grooves from Mr Scruff, it’s a collaboration we never we needed until now.
Riptide - South Arcade
The Y2K core quartet from Oxford are back, after their massive headline tour earlier this year. ‘Riptide’ is the next track in their journey, following the style and themes of ‘Nepo Baby’. We’re big fans of how this band are fusing together grungy rock with electronic sounds. Crank it up, it deserves a spot in your playlist.
