Weekly Roundup #15
Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.
Another week, another roundup. Fontaines DC dropped an unforgettable new tune and there are a few fresh indie discoveries.
Starburster - Fontaines DC
The boys are back, and sounding bigger than ever with Starburster, the lead single from their forthcoming new record, ROMANCE. It’s an impressive and experimental return, pushing the boundaries of their musical prowess. There’s so much to this track to praise, you simply have to embrace Fontaines DC’s new world to understand the level they’re at.
Seeing It Now - swim school
Releasing the Seeing It Now EP at the beginning of their first headline UK tour, we’ve had it on repeat since. Three of the five tracks are new originals, with a cover and re-run of an older track thrown in. Seeing It Now is a fiery and passionate indie rocker which sees them at their best; full of energy and attitude.
Money - Kynsy
After discovering the wonders of Kynsy supporting NewDad in Camden earlier this year, we’ve been hooked since. Her latest single Money is a bass-led indie track with dreamy shoegaze thrown in for good measure. The blend of Strokes-orientated guitars and gorgeous vocals are why Kynsy is set for the stars.
Birdwatch - Paradiso
Hailing from Shrewsbury, Paradiso is a four-piece alt-rock band. Their groovy debut (self-titled) EP dropped last week, with the standout being Birdwatch. Taking cues from The Royston Club, Viola Beach and early 00’s indie rock, they may be young, but they’re creative and full of ideas. Give it a listen, and hop on this band before everyone else finds out about them.
