Weekly Roundup #18

Welcome to Roundup, showcasing the freshest tunes at the moment.

Another week, another roundup. The Magic Gang kicked-off their upcoming archival release, Wunderhorse announced their second album and The Ariston dropped an indie banger just in time for Summer.

I’m Not Scared - The Magic Gang

As The Magic Gang prepares to host their farewell shows, a surprise single dropped. It’s the first of an upcoming archival release, a collection of 24 unreleased tunes dated 2013 - 2019. We can’t wait to hear what else is hidden away, The Magic Gang holds a special place in our hearts.

July - Wunderhorse

Animalistic, feral and grungy. July is the second single off Wunderhorse’s upcoming sophomore album, Midas, due to release on 30th August. What’s shaping up is an impressive rock record that supersedes an already-perfect debut in every way. Read our review.

Pathetic Apathetic - Indoor Pets

Last week, Indoor Pets with their second (and long-awaited) album Pathetic Apathetic. One of our favourites is the title track, a fusion of intense punk and chaotic indie rock. Well worth a listen.

Black Lake - Jordi Alkema

Black Lake is a ‘response to intensity and stress’, says Alkema. The track marries the thumping rhythm of Neil Young & Crazy Horse with the lyrical quirkiness and melodic power The Beatles. It makes you feel like you’re melting, and drifting back into something nostalgic.

The Festival - The Ariston

The Festival is the latest offering from indie rockers The Ariston, hailing from Southeast England. Taking noticeable cues from 00’s rock n’ roll (The Strokes, Maximo Park, Klaxons), this track expands their sound drastically. Well worth keeping an eye on these boys - there’s an anthemic nature reminiscent of early Catfish & The Bottlemen.

Now, it’s your turn. Give it a spin, and tell us what you think on Insta or X.

See you next week!
